কুয়েত সিটিঃ কুয়েতে ৪ মাসের বেতন পায়নি বলে অভিযোগ করেছে এশিয়ান দেশের প্রায় ৪০০০ শ্রমিক! বুধবার (২৪ জুলাই) আল আনবার বরাত দিয়ে আরব টাইমসে প্রকাশিত সংবাদে বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করা হয়। কুয়েত শ্রম মন্ত্রণালয়ের এক কর্মকর্তার সুত্রে প্রকাশ, প্রায় ৪০০০ ভারত, বাংলাদেশ ও শ্রিলংকান শ্রমিকরা দাবী করেছে নিয়োগদাতা কোম্পানি বিগত ৪ মাস থেকে বেতন দিচ্ছেনা। তাদের এমন দুর্দশার সমাধান খুঁজে বের করার চেষ্টা করছেন জানান ঐ কর্মকর্তা। বুধবার শ্রমিকরা জিলিবের নিকট আল জাবের স্টেডিয়ামে জড়ো হয়ে ধর্মঘটে যোগ দেয় দেশটির শ্রম ও স্বরাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ের অনুমোদনে। শ্রমিকরা বলছেন, তাদের চার মাস ধরে বেতন প্রদান করা হয়নি। এ বিষয়ে কোম্পানির কর্মকর্তাকে প্রশ্ন করা হলে তিনি জানান বিভিন্ন জটিলতায় মিনিষ্ট্রারীতে ১০ লাখেরও বেশি দিনার আটকে থাকায় এমন পরিস্থিতির উদ্ভব হয়েছে। কিছু শ্রমিক দাবি করেছে যে তারা কুয়েতে অবৈধভাবে বসবাস করছে কারণ কোম্পানি তাদের বাসস্থান পারমিট (একামা) নবায়ন করেনি।
